Apex Online Learning
About Apex
At New Village Charter, we believe all students should have the opportunity to reach their full potential. This is why we have adjusted the curriculum to include the Apex online learning program. This program allows students to move at their own unique pace, visualize and manipulate learning concepts, and review their challenges in great detail (allowing each student to work specifically on the concept she needs the most focus on).
In math, Apex is the core of our curriculum. Students log into www.apexvs.com and begin their study sessions. As their math teacher, I monitor their progress, proactively engage students who are struggling with specific concepts, and spend one-on-one time with students, helping them overcome mathematical challenges and learn how to take effective notes, read problems accurately, and work through frustrations.
Math is not easy for all students, and that is why Apex is so amazing. Concepts are taught in small chunks, quizzes are short and given often, and each lesson is full of interactive visuals that help students see their math in action!

Class Conduct
* Respect yourself and others – everyone needs the opportunity and time to listen, ask questions, & learn without distractions.
* Electronic devices– are very disrespectful. Please do not use them during class without permission. You will miss important information as well as annoy & distract others.
* Attendance – If you come to class, you will learn and do well. Students who come to class and pay attention will usually get an A or B! Students who miss class will often fail & have to repeat the class in summer school or next year, delaying graduation.
* Focus & Learn – Pay attention, it will help you understand the new material. Take notes, ask questions, volunteer to come up to the board, and help others (when appropriate).
* Restroom Breaks – You may use the restroom as needed, but please ask permission first. Please do not abuse restroom privileges or they will be revoked.
